One of my favourite places
汉普顿宫的点评
点评：I am fortunate to have Hampton Court Palace as my neighbour. I visited to see the tulip festival it was such a lovely day out. The gardens are full of colour right now — loads of tulips everywhere and all really nicely arranged, not just random planting. It feels really well looked after without being too “perfect”.
The Privy Garden and the main fountain area are one of my favourite areas but even just wandering around you keep coming across great views and quieter spots. The Wilderness area was nice if you want to get away from the busier parts for a bit.
The palace itself is worth a look too, but for me the gardens were the highlight this time. You could easily spend a few hours just walking around and taking it all in.
There is the maze to have fun and get lost in and of course the Magic Garden which has a gigantic stream breathing dragon, water fountains and sandy areas.
There is a cafe that has sandwiches, cakes and drinks, and a hot food counter where a meal on average is around £16:00. There are smaller versions for children priced at around £6:99.
Only downside is it does get pretty busy (no surprise with the tulips in full bloom).
I would recommend a week day visit early in the morning (it opens at 10am).
