See, I purposely put his name at the head of this to prioritize this highlight of our five day stay in London.
In five days, we booked only two things; Madame Tussaud’s waxworks and a Tower of London tour. ..
For us {64 & 24 year old ) I thought at first the £40 X 2 was a bit steep, not being in the student and pensioner categories anymore or yet, then again we thought we would avoid crowds in late October and we’d get a lot of history about the Tower of London from the tour.
Damn right we did.
We had the best Yeoman in the village.
My first impression was Paul Daniels morphed with Captain James Blount. ( I hope that’s a compliment)
and as I considered that this must be a job that continues throughout the day, every day come rain or shine
. I was very impressed with his way of keeping the crowd interested and gory history humorous to boot
I could sense that Darren loved his job, loved where he lives and took great pride in being a Guard to the late Queen and in service to the present King.
I would recommend this tour to anybody. It’s better if you understand some english, although many in our crowd didn’t.
A good tip is to stay close to Darren as you get the full experience (no touching please ) and our tour and the ones before and after had at least 35 people per group, so get within earshot.
Being from Lancashire originally and having moved away to Switzerland 40 years ago, it was my dream to get to London and show my children. What a beautiful city. London is ( despite it’ s street cred) and relay it’s amazing history to my youngest daughter.
We were captivated by Darren‘s knowledge,
impeccable ability to remember details and keep us interested.
There was also time afterwards to take photos and go on and see the separate buildings within the tower walls, I especially loved the Crown Jewels which were an added bonus as I nostalgically remember our late Queen Elizabeth on her Silver Jubilee.
We saw all the pageantry on film that we hadn’t seen the day before when we stood in the rain two hours outside Buckingham Palace waiting for a cancelled parade of the Irish guards (21.10.26)
..So…
If you are in doubt, let me be the one to tell you that it made my week, it made my year and gave me plenty of inspiration to visit again.

thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will put a word in for you with HR on the condition you ask Mr. Blunt if you can play flute box on his next album:)

想到这份工作必定是日复一日、风雨无阻地持续进行着……他对如何保持听众的兴趣，以及如何把血腥的历史故事讲得妙趣横生，给我留下了极深的印象。
我能感觉到达伦热爱自己的工作，也热爱自己居住的地方；他为能担任已故女王的护卫并效劳于现任国王而感到无比自豪。
我向任何人推荐这次游览。如果能懂一些英语就更好了，不过我们那群人里很多人其实并不会英语。一个不错的小窍门就是紧跟着达伦，这样就能获得完整的体验（请勿触摸哦）。我们参加的这次导览，以及前后进行的其他导览活动，每组都有至少35人，所以只要站在他能听见的范围内就行。
我原籍兰开夏郡，40年前移居瑞士。能带孩子们来伦敦看看一直是我的梦想。伦敦真是一座美丽的城市。尽管伦敦的名声有些复杂，但它辉煌的历史实在值得向我的小女儿讲述。
达伦的渊博知识令我们深深着迷。他/她记诵细节的能力无可挑剔，还能始终保持我们的兴趣。
之后我们还有时间拍照，并参观塔墙内的各个建筑。我尤其喜欢那些王室珠宝——这真是一大惊喜；它们让我不禁回忆起已故的伊丽莎白女王在她的银禧庆典上的模样。我们在影片中看到了前一天未能亲眼目睹的盛大场面——那天我们冒雨在白金汉宫外等了两个小时，结果爱尔兰卫队的阅兵式却取消了（21.10.26）。
