点评:TL/DR: Traveling with Dave in the WolfMobile is an immersive and stress-free experience; it’s a trip one almost certainly cannot replicate by oneself using A.I. or other engines / platforms.
I chuckled to myself, while I sipped my pint and ate my delicious Irish stew (from a reserved table next to a band that was playing traditional Irish music), as I watched travelers come into the best Irish pub in Doolan seeking a table in the massively-packed place — and then walk out (for lack of seating).
Sure, if you’re a “check-the-box” kind of traveler, I suppose you could ask an A.I. engine to help you plan a week-long trip to Western Ireland, and it would spit out a list of its recommended B&B’s, pubs and sights. And then you could try to make some reservations (or not) in preparation of your trip. Then once in Ireland, you could rent your car, try to navigate Ireland’s narrow two-way roads (usually 3/4 the width of two-lane roads in the U.S) and clockwise roundabouts, and try to find parking at the various sites and cities you visit (ever try parallel parking on the LEFT side of a road, using steering wheel on the right-side of a car?).
Me? I prefer letting Dave handle all that. He gets reservations at ideal lodges and B&B’s up to a year in advance — same goes for the best pubs and restaurants. He navigates the travel through Ireland, while giving color and context with respect to Irish traditions, topography, history, economics, politics, music, mythology/legends (“Finn McCool — a horse of a man”) and more — all with a fantastic sense of humor and wit (my wife said Dave’s narratives were one of highlights of our trip). He takes you to not only the popular places (Cliffs of Moher) but also “off the grid” sites with historical (or otherwise) significance — some of which were being visited only by us when we were there.
And if something goes “wrong” — maybe a recently washed-out bridge or unpredictable weather (an often occurrence in Ireland?) — Dave has a Plan B (and probably a Plan C), and he rearranges the itinerary to make the best of the situation. And it’s easy for him, because he knows the roads, the B&B proprietors, the restaurant managers, the stable owner, the kayaking guide, etc.
Dave makes travel through Ireland easy and rewarding. And I’m not the only one who feels this way — the majority of my traveling companions with Dave were repeat clients.
Long story short? As it relates to my trip with Dave, the craic was ninety — and my wife and I are already thinking about our next trip with him.
