点评:In mid-september my boyfriend and I visited Seehof Palace in Memmelsdorf (near Bamberg) for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The palace, once the summer residence of the Prince-Bishops of Bamberg, is a fine example of Rococo architecture and is especialy known for its gardens and historic fountain system.
Thanks to the great weather, we were able to stroll through the park and enjoy the hourly fountain display, which was a real highlight. The Rococo gardens, the many expressive Ferdinand Tietz sculptures, and the overall layout of the grounds create a very elegant and relaxing atmosphere. We also joined a guided tour of the palace, which provided plenty of interesting facts and added a lot of context to the beautifully preserved interiors.
Before exploring the palace and its grounds , we stopped for a beer at the café/restaurant located at the entrance of the park, which was a pleasant way to start our visit. An added bonus is the inexpensive parking available very close to the palace.
Overall, Seehof Palace is a lovely destination that combines history, art, and nature, and we're very glad we visited.
