张家界天门山的点评
点评：Tianmen Mountain must be absolutely stunning when the weather is clear, with breathtaking views of the famous "steps to heaven" and dramatic mountain peaks. However, there are some important issues to know before visiting:
⚠️ Current Renovation Issue:
- The top section of the main gondola is currently under renovation [May 2026]
- This means you now have to take a bus ride up instead of the gondola
- Both routes are now much more similar - less variety in the experience
💰 Pricing & Extras:
- Expensive: 288 yuan per person
- If you don't want to walk up the steps, the escalator on that section is paying
- Coming down on escalator is FREE and obligatory: you must use it
🌤️ Weather is CRITICAL:
You need good weather - most of the time I couldn't even see the famous steps due to fog/clouds
- Definitely not worth it if the weather is not clear
- Check weather forecast before going: don't waste 288 yuan on a cloudy day
Overall: Tianmen Mountain can be breathtaking with perfect weather, but the renovation reduces the experience, it's expensive, and visibility is often poor. Only go if you have clear weather guaranteed. Otherwise, skip it and save your money for better attractions in Zhangjiajie!
