点评:I wish I'd read the other reviews before going here but I just assumed that an art gallery in a major city like Vancouver would be great. I was very wrong. Let's start off with the admission price of $35 Canadian with no concession for seniors. Compare that to the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa which is loaded with old masters, famous contemporary artists, controversial pieces like Voice of Fire, and which charges only $20 for seniors. When I went to the Vancouver Art Gallery, a huge banner hung outside advertising a certain exhibition, which I was very keen to see. AFTER paying my $35 to get in, I found out that exhibit did not open until the next day. So I spent $35 to see a bunch of Emily Carr paintings [I'm not a fan] and a few other things which were just OK. The best part of this gallery is the restaurant, where we had a lovely lunch. I asked for a refund of my admission because the exhibit I wanted to see- and which had been advertised- was not open. They refused, saying that all tickets are final sale but rest assured, they would send my comments to management. That's not good enough. Vancouver, you deserve a much better art gallery!
