点评:Sixth Street’s reputation revolves around the bars and bands that constitute downtown nightlife in Austin. My bad for thinking it might be appropriate for a stroll with the family one afternoon. We were accosted by an arm waving, profanity spouting fellow shortly after emerging from the parking building, who seemed to want to discuss our political preferences while expressing his. We searched in vain for a restaurant we were interested in. It turned out to be vacant. We went into one stately and historic hotel/restaurant, very impressive but too rich for our blood, went searching for another dining choice only to be treated to the sights and sounds of a homeless woman who dropped her pants and began to irrigate and/or fertilize one of the trees growing in a dirt patch cut into the sidewalk. Delightful. I suppose it all looks and sounds and smells much better in the dark after a few six-packs of Lone Star. Thought I was back in San Francisco!
