Disappointing and showing a decline in standards
清迈动物园的点评
点评：We came here 17 years ago and enjoyed our time at the zoo. Even though they have added new features, sadly we could not say the same on this occasion. Many parts of the park are unkempt, including, as someone noted, the paved areas in the footpaths. They are mossy and when it is wet they are very slippery. We saw two people fall over when they slipped.
Although a lot of their advertising promotes the pandas, they are no longer there, nor was there a rhinoceros. The amount of animals in the zoo is quite poor and there are actually more empty enclosures than there are with animals in them. It feels very sad that this is zoo does not have more money spent on it for upkeep and maintenance as it is in a lovely setting and has great potential.
The food court was also closed but there are plenty of kiosks and stalls around where you can get a drink or a meal if needed.
Also note that there is one fee for zoo entrance, and then on top of that you can pay extra for the hop on/hop off shuttle, or hire your own golf cart. Additionally, there is an extra fee for the aquarium or the winter playground section for kids.
