点评：Overrated and weather dependent. I wanted to love the Cabot Trail, but I left feeling disappointed. The biggest issue is that the experience depends almost entirely on the weather. If it's foggy, rainy, or low-cloud—which seems to happen quite often in the summer—you simply don't get the famous coastal views. Much of the drive becomes a road through trees with only occasional glimpses of the ocean.
For me, the Cabot Trail didn't live up to the hype. It's marketed as one of Canada's greatest scenic drives, but that creates very high expectations. On a clear day, I'm sure it's stunning. Unfortunately, if the weather doesn't cooperate, it's easy to come away wondering what all the excitement is about.
My advice is to keep your plans flexible and only do the drive if the forecast is favorable. Otherwise, you may spend an entire day chasing views that never appear. I don't regret visiting, but I do think it's one of the most weather-dependent destinations I've ever experienced.
