Mary Gibbons Tours的点评
点评：I am currently studying archaeology at the University of Leicester, and Mary Gibbons’ tours came highly recommended to me. Having now experienced one, I can understand why. Newgrange, Knowth and the Hill of Tara are among Ireland’s greatest jewels, and the choice of sites and depth of interpretation made for a truly exceptional experience.
And then there was Mairtín Kelly.
There are knowledgeable guides, and then there are people who seem to have an entire civilisation quietly living inside their heads. Mairtín’s knowledge of archaeology, linguistics, Irish history and lawmaking is extraordinary, but it is his wit, intelligence and sheer intellectual curiosity that are truly captivating. He has a remarkable gift for storytelling and for making the distant past feel immediate, human and alive, moving effortlessly between the smallest detail and the largest historical picture.
I have travelled a lot and taken many tours. This is one I know I will treasure - not only for what I learned, but for the extraordinary person who brought it all to life.
