First visit to Newgrange, had a great time

点评：Aside from a small hiccup in securing my booking, this was a wonderful trip! I'd wanted to see Newgrange since I was a child, and I was lucky to have gorgeous weather for this first visit. Mary herself kept up an engaging and informative commentary throughout the drive out to our first stop at the Hill of Tara, but had to leave us before the next leg (hope all went well!). Funnily enough, our next guide at the Knowth stop was another Mary, who was also very warm and welcoming as she took us around the site.
Then it was on to Newgrange itself, where I believe our last guide was called John (?), and we were taken inside the monument itself to see a demonstration of the light effect of the solstice, which I hadn't realised was possible outside of the natural times - a nice idea for those who are unable to visit on those specific dates.
If this is your first visit, I would definitely recommend this tour company so that you arrive fully informed about what you're going to see. The Visitor's Centre at Newgrange is especially lovely, set in beautiful countryside and with an excellent interactive exhibit of its own before you head out to the site itself.
