点评:Saturday 25 November 2023, My husband and I decided to pay our second visit to the Nature in Art Museum and Sculpture Galley. We last went here in February 2020.
The art and sculpture collection at Nature in Art embraces two and three dimensional work in all media and styles from David Shepherd to Pablo Picasso. Spanning 1500 years, it includes work by 600 artists from over 50 countries. You can find exotic treasures, watercolour landscapes, Flemish masters, contemporary glass, modern abstract interpretations, bronze sculptures, textiles, ethnic art and photography. Unfortunately no photographs are allowed to be taken due to copyright issues of the artists work, which was fine by us. My husband and I spent over four hours here looking at all the artwork and sculptures.
The main themes this year was exhibitions of paintings of ice bergs in Antarctica and exhibitions of paintings of birds. Unfortunately there was no ‘Artist In Residence’. The day we went.
We did stroll round the sculpture garden with is various metal sculptures in gold, red and blue metal and took in the blue Whale Tail.
There was a local craft faire in one of the local outbuildings, so my husband and I entered within. We were surprised by the nice crafts on offer. We purchased a pinecone and seed hedgehog for our Xmas tree. We purchased a lovely 'Turkey' Hand Painted Card by Margaret Skinner, which we have decided to frame as it is so funny and quirky. We also purchased a lovely grey knitted elephant for a friends birthday who has a special love of elephants.
Afterwards, my husband and I were in need of refreshments, so we went to the ‘Hayward Coffee shop’, where my husband had a mug of tea and I had a latte coffee and we both indulged in slices of Lemon and Sultana cake and Bakewell Tart..I found inspiration here and I wrote a poem called ‘What Did We See?'.
My husband also purchased some art pencils in the museum shop, so he can draw the map of places he is writing about in his fantasy novel that he is writing. We left as the museum was closing.
This is a wonderful place to visit if you are in the area at any time of the year, and for the nominal entrance fee of six pounds and fifty pence, it is money well spent.
