点评：The Public Gardens is a year-round destination that never disappoints. It is a free garden to visit paid for by tax dollars and generous donors. Located in the center of the downtown of Halifax it easy to reach by car, transit bus or walking. Many of the cruise ships have it on their hop on hop off service. A volunteer group Friends of the Public Gardens augment the work of Parks and Grounds Department of the city; with events, tours, signage. In summer season there is food service in historic horticultural hall. The 1887 bandstand is setting for summer Sunday concert series. There are a number of plantings and plaques to mark Royal events and visitors. At Christmas, lights are added to brighten the earĺy evenings.
A place for locals to take their visiting friends for photos. Picnics and laying around on the grass are strictly limited to designated areas. Happily enforced to ensure lots of flower photo opportunities without people blocking the view. All regulations posted at all entry gates. Washrooms available April to November.
