Dark, Dreary, and Depressing
Art Gallery of Nova Scotia的点评
点评:A disastrous testament to the destructive power of “woke” ideals. Deep in the dreary depths we found one gorgeous bright Tom Forrestal— “Island in the Ice”— buried in a dreary little red (yes, red) room with, believe it or not, Alex Colville’s “Ocean Limited”. Couldn’t find either of the great Pratt painters. Are the curators and the board aware that a Colville painting just sold for 2.4 million?? Get your bloody priorities straight. Instead there is a plethora of Micmac work, the masks quite stunning, but much of the painting mediocre at best, especially “Chief Wiggums Wet Dream” (or some title close to that), a massive overbearing testament to bad taste driven by woke ideals. Get real— the painting is terrible and monopolizes a vast wall. The entire experience of the gallery was dark, dreary, and depressing. In addition to theses failings, signage is virtually non existent. (you might want to indicate on the street where the bloody entrance to the gallery is) and parking of course, like much of Halifax, is a bloody disaster. What a sad little gallery. What an embarrassment to the people of Nova Scotia. As another reviewer noted, the Beaverbrook in Fredericton is an example of how to run a small gallery— it is vastly superior.
