Recreational Haven for Toronto with the Best Views of the City

点评：The Toronto Islands are the premier natural attraction for city and not just Toronto but for all of Canada. The reason the British chose to begin their new colony of Upper Canada here is all about the islands that create a great and unique natural harbor. It is interesting that the islands themselves are really a natural result of Toronto's second-best natural amenity, Scarborough Bluffs. The erosion from the Bluffs is what created the islands.
Today the islands, in the right weather conditions, are an essential visit to any Toronto trip and made for recreation. You can hike, bike, swim or paddle as we chose. Between the harbor and intricated canals, the islands are a great place to Paddleboard or kayak. My friend and I rented SUPs from Toronto Island SUP, and our wives rented a tandem kayak. We all did an hour paddle that was highlighted by a passing through Sunfish Cut into Toronto Harbor for the best views of the Toronto skyline. In fact, another highlight is simply seeing the skyline from you travel to the islands via ferry or water taxi. We also were able to hike the Ward Island boardwalk along the shoreline for great views of the island and Lake Ontario. Finally, we also enjoyed the amenities on the island enjoying drinks after our battle at Castaways Rum Shack.
Visiting the Toronto Islands is a great activity for any Toronto vacation which I highly recommend. In a large city, they are fun and therapeutic with some of the best views of the city.
