点评:The story and history of the plains "Indians" (sometimes still called "Indians" but let's now describe them as indigenous peoples) is thoughtfully and sympathetically captured in several galleries at this important historic site on the edge of Saskatoon. Beautifully written captions accompany visual displays which include an explanation of the written Cree language, the fundamental importance of the buffalo in plains Indian culture and the work being done to reconcile what has gone before with modern Canadian society. The centre also has a small restaurant with bison, deer, duck on the menu and other indigenous dishes. Given it's historic and cultural significance Wanuskewin has been proposed and is apparently being considered for UNESCO world heritage status - from what I saw and experienced I think the chances are very good. A must stop on your visit to Saskatchewan (Saskatoon).
