点评：This was our second visit to the McMichael from our home 4 hours away. So it is a destination for us. As a premier art museum dedicated to Canadian art, focusing on the Group of Seven and Indigenous Art, we keep apprised of their new exhibitions and their events. On this occasion, we returned to see the newly opened Old Growth: Masterworks by the Group of Seven and their Contemporaries and attend the curator talk. Both the exhibition and the talk were exceptional. Well worth the long drive to and from Kleinburg. During our five hours at the museum, we also took in the Close to Home and Early Days: Indigenous Art at the McMichael exhibitions. The curators take care to present new ways of looking at the Group of Seven artists and their work. In fact, it was as if we were visiting for the first time. Same with the Indigenous art, especially the work of Norval Morrisseau and contemporaries. Highly recommend this museum. Go and spend all day there! Explore the grounds too with its sculptures and trails. And pay your respects to Mr and Mrs McMichael and six Group of 7 artists who are buried in a peaceful setting on the grounds.
