A small property but an important one and a welcoming one.
Epworth Old Rectory的点评
点评：I am surprised there aren't more reviews for this place as it is historic and a lovely, interesting place to visit.
It is situated on a corner plot in the village of Epworth, across the road from the local Co Op supermarket but the trees block out that particular eyesore thankfully.
There is a tiny car park next to the entrance for around 3 -4 cars max but street parking is available.
I was surprised that for such a small venue there were plenty of clean, modern toilets at the entrance.
The staff / volunteers here were all really friendly, helpful and chatty and down to earth and I didn't detect any of the 'stuffiness' that you can experience from many staff / volunteers at National Trust places for example.
There is a very small gift shop but nowhere to get a coffee or anything like that. Perhaps they should have a coffee 'kiosk' or 'van' at the back of the grassy area just for weekends when it is likely to be a bit more footfall.
Just to serve tea, coffee and basic foods. This would be a welcome addition although I am not sure how financially viable this would be.
The rectory itself has been carefully and sensitively curated and you certainly get the feeling that you are setting foot into a significant and historic place.
There are about 4 rooms on the upper floor and a couple on the lower floor then the kitchens. There is a small herb garden too.
It was also so refreshing not to see anyone wearing 'rainbow' lanyards or flags and stickers up everywhere of the 'pride progress flag'.
The museum and heritage sectors in particular have become infested with this political ideology and has become tiresome and frustrating to have to be bombarded with this nonsense literally everywhere you go these days.
Epworth Old Rectory and the staff are very welcoming to all groups of people as they should be and therefore presumably don't feel the need to promote one group of people over all others just to try and prove this - which is mature and sensible move and inclusive to everyone.
I thoroughly recommend a visit to this place if you are passing or in the area.

楼上约有4个房间，楼下则有几个房间以及厨房。这里还有一个小型的香草园。同样令人耳目一新的是，没有看到任何人佩戴“彩虹色”挂绳，也看不到到处都是“骄傲进步旗”的旗帜和贴纸。
尤其是博物馆和文化遗产领域，如今已经充斥着这种政治意识形态；如今无论走到哪里都被迫接触到这些无稽之谈，真是令人厌烦又沮丧。Epworth Old Rectory及其工作人员对各类人群都非常热情友好，这是理所应当的。因此，他们大概也觉得没必要特意推崇某一类人群来证明这一点——这种做法既成熟又明智，而且体现了对所有人的包容。
