Short but sweet museum
The Hangar Flight Museum的点评
点评：I had a great time visiting this small but impressive museum. It's well run and the staff there loves aviation and really do a lot to help the visitors learn about Canadian aviation history.
The facility has two parts: the main building has admissions and a gift shop, and the main displays with many different craft. The early aircraft like the biplanes are the best; thoughtfully displayed in cutaway format so you can see the composition of the aircraft and the spars and ribs that go under the wing fabric. Other displays allow you to get up and see the cockpits of the planes.
The main display building also has a second floor with some additional exhibits and a nice rack displaying very nice aircraft model kits built by locals.
Outside and across from the main building is a tent hangar with several other aircraft including the famous Avro Lancaster.
It's a worthy visit if you're in the area and are into aviation. Casual audiences could finish in less than an hour; enthusiasts could spend more than double that despite the museum's size.
If you save your receipt, you can get a discount at other museums in the network (The Military Museums, also in Calgary, and I believe another one in Edmonton).
