点评:This is an amazing natural phenomenon which includes the Grandes Playas de Corralejo, Las Dunas and surrounding mountains. Combining it all together it really is a spectacular sight.
The Park stretches for roughly ten and a half kilometres from Corralejo on the northeastern side to Montaña Roja (Red Mountain) South of it.
Sunday 4th February and we walked through part of the Park from Corralejo to our Hotel, Riu Palace Tres Islas, a distance of about five kilometres.
A number of linked beaches form the Grandes Playas and Las Dunas starting with Playa de Corralejo Viejo at one end to Playita del Poris at the other, all washed by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
The beaches near Corralejo are favoured by the windsurfers due to the windy conditions, while the others are used by sunbathers.
We did drive along the FV-1 road, which stretches from Corralejo to Puerto del Rosario and passes through the heart of the Natural Park. At times it was like we were driving through a sand dune with sand piled up on either side of the road, stunning scenery.
There is lots of roadside parking so that visitors can visit the beaches and dunes, this can cause congestion at times. There are signs along the way advising motorists of sand along the road.
Our Hotel, Riu Palace Tres Islas and Hotel Riu Oliva are located in the centre of the dunes within the Park. From our balcony we had views along the beaches in both directions, in fact we could see as far as Montaña Roja.
Standing, at one end or the Park, at three hundred metres high, is Montaña Roja an impressive landmark. It is possible to climb to the summit of the mountain along a number of pathways. Reportedly the views of the Park, from the summit are spectacular.
Still amazed that permission was given to build the hotel and the road FV-1 in the Natural Park.
Visitors are asked to respect the dunes and the Park and leave nothing behind.

Montaña Roja
