南国会大街的点评
点评：South congress 10 years ago was all about local craftsman and artists, food trucks, nice cafes and quirky shops like The big top candy and Allen’s boots. Even though these 2 are still there which is why I gave it 2 stars it is being taken over by pretentious stores where you smell candles from a glass jar and stores like Nike and Alo if I want those types of stores I would go to a mall.
They have the mural sign which is nothing much yet they have someone there to help you take a picture in front of it weird.Bonus however, it is next to Jo’s which is a good place to have a drink.
I will not be going back as it feels soulless. This street could be anyway in the USA.
They are trying to keep the ethos of ‘Keep Austin Weird’ but this has failed dramatically.
