Pole Culturel du Monastere des Ursulines的点评
点评:In the midst of Old Quebec, the "Pole Culturel du Monastere des Ursulines is an historic and architectural treasure. First erected in 1722, it reached its current form in 1902. Well preserved and maintained, it houses beautiful wood-carvings, many of them gilded. It is inside the Ursuline Convent, which was the first educational institution for women in North America. As you enter the chapel, you view the magnificent main altar at the end of thee nave, while to the right, you can admire the altar dedicated to the Sacred Heart. Also to the right, just before reaching the main altar, is the spacious Oratory of Marie de l'Incarnation, created in memory of one of the original Ursuline nuns sent from France to New France to establish the Ursuline order in North America. Because of her writings about the Catholic faith, her interaction with Native Americans in the region and the creation of the educational institution, she was canonized in 2014 by Pope Francis.
