If there was a best way to experience Glendronach, this is it!

点评：My son and I did the Getaway tour. So we arrived at Meldrum House on Friday evening where we had a fabulous dinner. We were picked up by Mark C on Saturday and driven to the distillery. I wouldn't normally mention how well someone drives, but Mark is quite expert, gave useful information and was friendly. We arrived at the distillery around 11am where we were met by our host, Kevin. We had a coffee and our first dram of the day. It was a useful 30 minutes as Kevin got to know us and a little about our whisky tastes. Kevin escorted us around the distillery, stills, warehouse etc, giving fantastic information about the whisky-making process but mostly about Glendronach itself. Kevin knows his stuff and represented the distillery very well. At around 1pm we went into the visitor centre where a lunch had been prepared. One vegan and one normal. I have to be honest and say that I wasn't expecting what we got. It was first rate. Really well-prepared food and beautifully presented. Lined up in front of us was also numerous drams of Glendronach, ranging from Ode to Embers, a 14yr old distillery special, an 18yr old, 21yr old and 30yr old. Also enjoyed a comparison of the PX versus Olorosso sherry used in the casks. Kevin did a great job discussing the whiskies and left us after a while to enjoy lunch and enjoy finishing the various drams. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. At around 3.30pm, we left to be picked up by Mark who drove us back to Meldrum House. Obviously, I like Glendronach whisky otherwise I wouldn't have organised a Getaway experience of this nature. Having said that, the experience was extremely well-executed and has left both my son and myself with fabulous memories. I will also add that the booking process and updates provided by Emma were excellent too. The whole experience from start to finish was 10/10.
