Bird of Prey VIP Experience – 100% recommend!

点评：My mum bought us the Bird of Prey VIP experience for Christmas and we visited Saturday just gone. We were expecting the experience itself to be maybe an hour or so, but it was actually around 3.5 hours. We got to fly a vulture, a kite and an owl, a few times each, so we could really see them up close. We also got to see a Secretary bird which was brilliant and very funny!
The open-air flying display that we saw was brilliant too. Having the birds flying right over our heads was so exciting, and at one point a wild red kite got involved!
There are multiple talks and displays throughout the day, and all of the staff were really engaging and clearly know and care so much about the birds. We learnt about the conservation work they do, and they certainly flipped what we think of vultures on its head. One of the things that really struck me was how trusting the birds are with the keepers. Obviously the food is an incentive for them to come back, but they could fly off at any point and they choose not to.
Special thanks to Cedric and Falster (sorry if I’ve got that spelling wrong!) who led our VIP experience and were both really engaging, knowledgeable and made the whole day enjoyable.
