I’d give the winter lights a miss

点评：Found the winter lights evening disappointing unfortunately. It was difficult to see the birds in their enclosures in the ‘lit up’ walk to the arena - fully appreciate they should NOT have a bright light or torch in their faces for our benefit but unusual to be advertised as an evening to be able to see them along a lit up trail then not particularly be able to see anything. I am perhaps in the minority as seen lots of lovely reviews (which is what made us so excited to visit), but particularly disappointed by the show. In a 45 minute show, it felt like 40 minutes of voice recording on habitats and diet etc. and 5 minutes of owls. Again, you cannot and should not control an animal into performing, but the evening we attended the barn owl did not want to play ball (bless them) so we missed a whole display. I can’t express enough how much I don’t expect animals to perform for me (as an animal volunteer myself), but to advertise and put on a show to expect to be immersed in these beautiful creatures, I was just sadly disappointed to see so few. Please also let’s normalise not having to walk through the gift shop as both the entrance and exit without being offered an alternative with young children.
