Blue Whale of Catoosa的点评
点评：We stopped in the evening after everything was closed. We waited for the lights to come on. I was excited that we would be in the area to see it at night. Disappointingly, only the blue neon on the edge of the building came on. We went back the next day and got to see the interior of the new visitor center and gift shop.
It felt like they were not ready for the influx of visitors. There were still crews doing work to the exterior of the building and the gift shop was already out of some popular items. They had just opened about two weeks before we visited. I'm hoping when we go back later this year that they will have worked out some of the kinks.
That said, I like the new building. It has a very cool mid-century vibe and the outside panels give great background information on the whale and its creator. That, to me was a big plus. The people we spoke with were all very friendly and took our criticisms well. The paved parking, and all the improvements to the grounds are quite welcome.
I do miss the whimsical concrete tables and stools.
