点评:At first, the whole village may feel creepy but after I got to learn about the story behind this village, I can empathize with the artist motivation and longing behind her scarecrow making. The dolls are an art by itself, I love the attention to details that can be found in each doll. What I find it truly authentic is that the dolls are just left outdoors, indoors, in the school hall, etc, and no one even bothered to charge an entry ticket. I think it makes the whole experience surreal and natural at the same time. This place is one of its kind, I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like this somewhere else. Two buildings that you can go in, the first is the abandoned school basketball hall, and the other one is the workshop located just across on a building that used to be the kindergarten. Totally recommend to see, and bear in mind the depopulation problem that many rural villages are facing around the world.
