Midland Railway - Butterley的点评
点评：We had an excellent day out at Midland Railways Butterley. We enjoyed the main steam train ride to Riddings, really nice to watch the steam train in action. I personally loved the “Golden Valley Light railway”.
THE WONDERFUL interactions with the volunteers really made the day!! (Particular Chris at the hobby railway, the guys on the GVLR, the guy in the stationary engine shed, the cafe, the train conductor etc). Really excellent for our kids (8 and 12).
Just a comment on the negative reviews below. To some degree I can see where these reviews come from,eg
1. Some attractions were closed. I appreciate that many attractions are “separate” organisation, but it would be good to inform visitors what is open.
2. Better map and directions would be helpful.
3. Lots of old decaying trains/carriages.
3. Cost of ticket. We were happy to pay the price, as we had a great time, but can understand other comments. Seems to depend on the interactions you have with the volunteers
Overall, Best to remember this is a VOLUNTEER CHARITY, not a commercial theme park. Hence, hopefully people are happy to help support them in their efforts.
