点评：This is definitely a "must do" when coming to the White Mountains!
And if you have some time it is imperative to pick a very sunny day as clouds are surrounding Mt. Washington 6288 ' 70% of the time so visibility will be limited.
The van ride was a perfect trip up to the summit last Friday and the driver Lefty gave us good overview of the fabled Auto Road and the fascinating history that surrounds this unique eight mile journey to the top. He described well how the vegetation changes along the way and how the trees adapt to this unforgiving harsh climate.
I have taken the van many times and it never fails to show the beauty and stunning vistas of the mountains from every corner that we turned.
The summit houses the Mt. Washington Observatory, a museum, small cafe and Tip Top Hotel.
Take a tour too to hear the stories of life on top where the largest wind gust of 231 mph. was recorded in 1934 and meet the people that spend a week at a time monitoring some of the worst weather in the world.
The Tip Top Hotel is also worth a visit and the third hotel on that site.
This indeed will not disappoint!
