Be very careful when purchasing food or dried goods here.
An elderly woman in her 60s selling dried goods at this coffee shop leverages shared Teochew heritage (using phrases like "own people will help own people" / "胶己人") to gain trust, but she severely overcharges unsuspecting customers.
During my visit, she marked up basic food items to double or more than their actual coffee shop price. For example:
• Otah-Otah: Listed/standard price is 2,500 Rp each, but she charged 5,000 Rp each.
• Coffee: Standard price is 9,000 Rp, but she marked it up to 22,500 Rp.
She applies these exact same unfair markups to her dried goods stall as well. Please double-check item prices directly with the main coffee shop stall or ask for exact prices upfront before buying anything from this coffee shop.
