点评:This is not about the Xiang Jiang River per se. It is about the evening cruise.
The sheer scale of the landscape lighting is literally, mind blowing. This cruise is made to exhibit the landscape lighting all along the Xiang Jiang River. The Government has made this attraction for tourism alone. And, of course, contribute to the feeling of wellbeing for the citizens. The cruise started promptly at 19:00, when it was still dusk. (There are later slots too). Already the lighting had started on the building facades. The boat moves at a leisurely pace moving past the Orange Island, lets you have a look at the statue of the young Mao Zedong, lit up for the evening. There are two decks which are lounges, where you can buy some snacks or beer if you prefer. However, the best place you can view the landscape lighting is on the top (third) deck which is open, without any glass windows. That gives you an unimpeded view of the spectacle which rolls by. This is easily the largest, THE largest coordinated landscape lighting which I have seen, and trust me, I have seen a few. The cruise lasts about 45 minutes, and the price does seem steep.
But trust me, I really enjoyed the scale of the whole show, which just kept me muttering ... awesome, awesome, awesome.
How they have managed the coordinated lighting across buildings is an acknowledgement of harnessing technology.
