A fantastic 12-day tour through Turkmenistan and Tajikistan

点评：I booked a 12-day Turkmenistan/Tajikistan tour with Ventura Tours during November, 2025. It was a fantastic trip, challenging on many levels: physically, mentally and emotionally. Ventura Tours really worked with me to customize my itinerary based on my interests, being patient with me through the whole process. So I really appreciated that.
As for the tour itself, my local guide in Turkmenistan, Dow'lett, was great. He was knowledgeable of all the places we visited. He provided, what I think was a fair and balanced view of Turkmenistan and its policies while taking me all over the country to experience many different aspects of life and history in the country. We ended up visiting 4 of the 5 districts in Turkmenistan. Ashgabat is completely different than the rest of Turkmenistan. In the countryside of Turkmenistan, life is more simple, more basic and did not disappoint. You have to visit both.
My local guide in Tajikistan, Hamid, was also great. We spent most of the time up in the mountains and Tajikistan delivered with spectacular mountain views, lakes, and small traditional villages hidden deep within the Fann Mountains.
My tour leader, Nuriza, provided top notch leadership, keeping every aspect of the trip organized and on time. If something wasn't quite right, she immediately took care of it, even if I wasn't aware of it. She is that good.
If you have a chance, you must visit this part of the world. Thank you Ventura Tours.
