点评：Tengchong’s Heshun Ancient Town and Ginkgo Village together show two extremes of the region — one rich in human history, the other dazzling with nature. Heshun tells the story of a small, historic overseas Chinese community, while Ginkgo Village is a golden fairyland when leaves turn.
Ginkgo Village: A “Non-Peak Season” Experience
I visited in October, before the ginkgo leaves had turned golden. Surprisingly, it was a completely different experience from peak season: no crowds, no traffic jams, no golden carpets on the ground—just quiet stone-paved streets, lush green ancient trees, and a sense of calm that makes you want to stay.
Highlights of October at Ginkgo Village:
Drive slowly through the village: Renting a small car was perfect — so few people and cars, I could stop wherever I wanted. In peak season, this would be impossible.
Lunch under century-old trees: Found a spacious farm stay and sat under huge ginkgo trees. Ordered ginkgo chicken stew and local dishes. The leaves were still green, but the relaxed atmosphere was much better than crowded peak times.
Overnight stay: Many guesthouses in the village, easy to book in October. At night, the village was peaceful with insects chirping, and birds woke me up in the morning — an experience that feels like a luxury in high season.
Photography: Freedom to take photos without fighting for space. Even without golden leaves, the green ginkgo trees, blue-tiled roofs, and white walls make a fresh and beautiful scene.
Heshun Ancient Town
Entry fee: 55 RMB/person (valid 3–7 days, multiple entries allowed)
Boat rides: Paid separately
Why it’s special: Unlike Dali or Lijiang, Heshun is a living town, not just for tourists. You can feel the rhythm of local life.

Stay: Highly recommend 1–2 nights to soak in the atmosphere.
