点评:From JR Nakafurano Station we walked approx. a 15+ minute walk to the Park. It’s direction is heading east from the station and we just follow along the main street (Route 705). The park is on the left & a slight slope further, adjacent to the Choei Lavender Farm.
Quite a hot walk under summer sun, mid-August. There were few tourists like us walking towards.
It is a large lawn of grass park with a fountain next to the Municipal Lavender Fields. The Park was created on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the opening of Nakafurano Town. Indeed a good place to take a break and look around scenery. As its name says, it is decorated with various colors of flowers of each season. It is mid-August and the Lavender setting was almost over ( no more purple carpet of lavender blossom ), there were not many flowers on the gentle slope o the field due to the change of season to the next.
We took the single chair-lift to the higher ground where one can have a visual of the vast panorama of Mt. Tokachi Range.
Weather was hot and we explore the area further, there are Restaurant, Public rest room, Water fountain park and we took a tea break at one of the coffee and some food at the beautiful warm cafe. Next to the cafe, is a souvenirs store which also sells dried bouquets.
