点评:My review is regarding our experience on the Thomas train yesterday. I am assuming that these are the same trains with just a Thomas head.
I would like to start by saying that my 5 year old son's FINGERS/HANDS would have been CRUSHED or even CHOPPED OFF yesterday on the Thomas train (11am) and the way the staff responded was inhuman and clearly lacked empathy.
We had the Thomas train event yesterday at 11a.m. My 5 year old son was sitting next to the window which was already open. Just within a minute or two of finding a seat, the heavy wooden window frame suddenly slid down with a crashing sound. Thank God, my son's hands were not there.
We immediately alerted the conductor, and she said "Well, the trains are old, and I have seen this window always sliding down. Anyways, you are not supposed to keep your hands there." She had absolutely no empathy and didn't care about the severity of the situation. Those windows are extremely heavy. They can crush fingers, hands, or anything underneath. Just to be safe, my husband who was sitting on the other side with my younger son held the window up so it wouldn't fall and hurt anyone. The conductor came again and told him not to hold it and that he was making it worse by holding it up.
After deboarding the train, we informed another conductor about the issue. We suggested they should at least paste small stickers on the windows clearly stating, "Keep your hands away from the window as they slide down," or, even better, perform regular maintenance and fix these issues. This is not a small issue; someone's hands or head could be crushed, especially since kids frequently put their hands and heads out while waving at people. Even adults sometimes do it. And he said "Well, we have it written on the tickets, and the trains are old." He had a similar temperament to the other conductor on the train.
So, no matter what, the team takes no responsibility for maintaining the trains and ensuring safety. But, finds it easier to simply blame it on customers. If they don't maintain the trains properly, they should stop running them as they are clearly unsafe.
We are never going on those trains again, and we are sure to warn our friends about how unsafe those trains are and even worse how bad the entire staff is. Sure, people ride at their own risk, but the team is equally responsible for maintaining those trains to ensure they are safe, especially when children are on board.
