Wish we had spent more time
St. Charles Historic District的点评
点评：We decided to make a quick stop while driving from St. Louis to Kansas City. St. Charles is fairly close to St. Louis so we pulled off the interstate and drove into the historic district.
It is a well maintained multi block series of older buildings that is well decorated. The Mississippi River is about a block or two east of the main street and parking is available between the river and the main street.
We visited the Visitor's Center which does have public bathrooms and is adjacent to the old state capital building.
Unfortunately for us, we arrived before most stores were open and well before lunch time so our tour was primarily a short walk and drive thru the district. The shops were attractive and restaurants appeared inviting. With hindsight, we wish we had timed our visit better and allowed a few hours including having a meal
