Champagne Pierre Mignon的点评
点评：I popped into Pierre Mignon during my trip through the Champagne region for a glass of champagne and to buy a couple of bottles as thank-you gifts for people back home. My dog is called Pierre, so I thought it would be a particularly lovely and personal gift.
What I hadn’t expected was to have such a genuinely special experience, and that was entirely down to Ludovic Paste Rapicault, the sommelier.
Ludovic was absolutely outstanding. Rather than simply pouring a glass and selling me a few bottles, he took the time to share his knowledge and passion. I learned so much from him — not only about the champagne itself, the different grape varieties and the champagne-making process, but also about the history of the region. It turned what could have been a quick stop into a really memorable experience.
And then there was the wine! Ludovic introduced me to a still red wine made from Pinot Meunier, which was unlike anything I had tasted before. The beautiful cherry nose and palate were absolutely divine, and I ended up taking quite a few bottles home with me.
The champagne and wine were delicious, but honestly, Ludovic made the experience. His knowledge, enthusiasm and generosity in sharing it made me feel as though I had been given something much more valuable than simply a few bottles of wine — I had been given a little piece of the history and character of the region.
I really hope Ludovic receives the recognition he deserves. He is a credit to Pierre Mignon and is exactly the kind of person who turns a visit into something you remember long after you’ve left.
