点评:Our visit was very disappointing. You can only visit with a tour. It can be booked online. The night before all times were still available but all gone in the morning of our planned visit. We went anyway, hoping. Just as well as nothing was booked out.
Our guide must have had a very poor instruction into their work, i.e. how knowledge is presented as well as knowledge itself. We were irritated when they spoke of "booie" and "green room" and asked us not to touch the dog. The information that handles are called such was missing.
The communication from the bridge to the machine room with the telegraph was explained. The object in front of us looked very different to what one has in mind when hearing "telegraph". G(uide): You have to turn the handle and it goes "bing". That is heard in the engine room and then they go faster/slower. We were confused as the "bing" is always the same one. We are still not sure how it works. Our questions did not bring clarification.
There were guests on board, family members. Their rooms were at the back. So staff had family members with them? Or family members from lighthouse staff was going to visit? More confusion, more questions.
There is a diving room on board. What they were diving for from the Alexander Henry we did not understand. They worked with a decompression chamber but nothing of that sort was shown to us.
G: There are two horns - an air horn and an electrical one.
- What is the difference? G: I do not really know.
- Why did they have two horns? G: I do not really know.
G: There are winter buoys and summer buoys.
-What's the difference? G: Well, ones are used in winter and the others in summer.
G: This is the manual steering room. It gets very hot in here up to 95' Celsius.
- Fahrenheit. G: No Celsius.
- This is not possible. You do not survive 95' Celsius. This is short before water boils.
G: That's why they only stayed 15 minutes and then swapped.
