点评:As with nearly every attraction in Everglades NP, it is simply a different, fragile and amazing ecosystem that is combined with 10 other ecosystems to make up this American environmental treasure. Our group did not complete the entire trail, but we did spend some time traversing the coastal prairies that run along the shores of Florida Bay.
These are unique for Everglades National Park because they are sand uplands that dry easily. There are many plants that make this habitat home, but you won't see are trees like cypress and pine or sawgrass that dominate most areas of the park that are wet. Here grasses and low succulents thrive across these flat, sandy prairies. There is a beauty here like all of the park, but it is very different. Everything about the Everglades is determined by elevation and moisture, and the coastal prairie is no different.
