My stay at this Provencal art studio in Jouques was absolutely magical. Experiencing the authentic local atmosphere of an ancient Provence village, wandering through narrow cobblestone streets, and sketching directly in the lavender fields was a dream come true.
Jean-Louis is an exceptional art instructor. He teaches classical painting techniques from the very ground up—covering everything from composition, canvas preparation, sketching to the final painting.
If you want to experience painting like the Impressionists did—gathering inspiration outdoors and bringing it to life —I highly recommend this workshop. You are right at the source in Jouques.
If you have time, you can also visit nearby places where famous painters worked. It is a beautiful way to experience art in the South of France.
