UFO Trail and Cafe closed
Rendlesham Forest Centre的点评
点评：We had read about the UFO incident at Rendlesham Forest in December 1980 and wanted to visit the forest and walk the UFO trail.
On arrival at the main car park, which was full of pot holes, there were lots of signs dotted around telling you to ‘pay on arrival’, but no signs guiding you to the pay station. Once we located the pay station and paid for parking, we walked over to the information board to start the trail, and that's when we discovered that the UFO trail was closed. There was no mention of this as we entered the car park and having already driven an hour and a hour through tricky country lanes and paid for £5.25 for parking, we certainly weren’t going to be leaving without walking the UFO trail.
The trail itself is a circular walk of approximately 3 miles through the forest. It’s well signposted, so you can’t get lost. However, there is no information about the UFO sightings on the trail, so it’s best to read up about the incident before you arrive or take a photo of the information board before you start the trail. Although the sign on the road says the Cafe is open, it was closed during our visit and there were no trail maps available.
Overall, parking is expensive, there are no refreshments or trail maps available and to get the most out of your visit, it’s best to read up about the 1980 sighting before going to Rendlesham Forest, otherwise it will have little or no meaning to you.
