A Once-in-a-Lifetime Kimberley Experience - Beyond Anything I Expected

点评：I travelled on Discovery One last season with Steve Parish and Glenn Smith, along with one of my closest friends, and it was genuinely one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. I expected a beautiful cruise — what I didn’t expect was how deeply connected I would feel to the landscape, the people, and the art of photography itself.
Each day offered at least three unique experiences - hidden inlets, remote beaches, waterfalls, rock art shelters, wildlife encounters, and breathtaking horizons that changed constantly with tides and light. It felt like exploring a new world every morning. The shallow-draft boat allowed us to access places most never see, and the pace was perfect: unhurried, immersive, and beautifully guided.
The photographic and nature-connection sessions with Steve and Glenn were a highlight. Their generosity, teaching style, and passion opened my eyes not just to technique but to a whole new way of seeing. Whether we were watching the sunrise over sandstone ranges or photographing crocodiles, birdlife, or the textures of tide-carved rock, I learnt something meaningful every single day.
The crew were exceptional — warm, relaxed, endlessly helpful, and a real team. They anticipated every need without fuss, creating an atmosphere that was both professional and deeply personal. The hospitality was outstanding: delicious fresh meals, happy camaraderie, and a feeling that we were being welcomed into their world, not simply taken on a tour.
I loved every minute. I made friends for life. And I left with not just incredible photographs, but a richer appreciation for the Kimberley’s nature, history, and spirit of adventure.
This wasn’t just a cruise - it was a transformative journey. I cannot recommend Discovery One enough.
