Unforgettable experient in Omo Valley

点评：My trip with my partner in a group of 9 people to the Omo Valley in Ethiopia was absolutely incredible, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Degu, and his fantastic drivers, Desu and Temesgen. They were incredibly kind and attentive throughout the entire journey, always making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of.
The itinerary was a perfect immersion into the local cultures. We had the privilege of visiting the Arbore, Hamer, Mursi, and Karo tribes. The highlight were the bull jumping ceremony that we saw with Hamer tribe and the homestays; we spent two unforgettable nights living with the Hamer people and one night with the Karo tribe. This authentic experience gave us a deep insight into their daily lives that you just can't get from a day visit.
What truly set Degu apart was his genuine warmth and respect for the tribal members. He speaks their language, which made every interaction feel natural, relaxed, and personal rather than like a staged tourist visit. Furthermore, his profound knowledge of the area and its cultures made us feel completely safe at all times. He has contacts throughout the valley who would inform him of the current situation in each place, ensuring our visit was always secure.
If I had one small suggestion for future travelers, it would be nice to know the daily plan further in advance. However, I completely understand that the ever-changing dynamics with the tribes made it difficult to set a rigid schedule.
I cannot recommend Degu enough. He was incredibly proactive and responded immediately to every need we had, always prioritizing our comfort and enjoyment above all else. We are from Spain and originally hired a Spanish guide who then subcontracted Degu; which I now deeply regret, as it made no sense at all since Degu was doing all the work. Without a doubt, if I return to Ethiopia, I would go directly with him and wouldn't even consider using any other service. He made the trip truly special.
