点评：We've hired narrowboats from several companies over the years, but Cafwin Cruises is simply in a league of its own. Four holidays later, with our fifth already booked for next June aboard Arthur Owl, we can't imagine boating with anyone else.
The boats are beautifully designed, immaculately maintained and feel more like a luxury floating cottage than a hire boat. Every detail has been carefully thought through, and each year we notice something new that reminds us how much pride Catherine, Mark and the whole team take in what they do.
The real magic, though, is the people. From the moment you book until the day you reluctantly hand the keys back, Catherine is there if you need her. Friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate, nothing is ever too much trouble.
This year our only hiccup in four years was a blocked loo. One phone call, complete reassurance and it was fixed within two hours. Problems can happen anywhere—it's how they're dealt with that matters, and Cafwin couldn't have handled it better.
We also seem to have perfected the art of booking our holidays during Britain's annual heatwave! Yes, narrowboats are made of steel, but that's all part of the adventure. Cruise early, moor in the shade, slow the pace and enjoy watching the world drift by with a cold drink in hand. Bliss.
What Catherine and her family have created isn't just a boat hire business; it's a business built on kindness, pride and genuine care for their guests. You never feel like just another booking.
We're genuinely sad that 2027 will be Catherine and Mark's final season before they head off on their own adventures. They thoroughly deserve it, but it really will be the end of an era. Catherine has become a legend in our eyes, and we'll miss knowing she's only a phone call away.
