点评:I gave NearMe two chances and both times ended in disappointment.
First trip – complete no-show
I booked NearMe for an airport transfer. The driver never showed up, leaving me stranded and forced to arrange a last-minute taxi at my own expense. What made it worse was NearMe’s response: they refunded the taxi fare but kept my original booking fee as a “cancellation charge” — despite the fact that it was their failure, not mine, that caused the cancellation. After pushing back, they offered a ¥2,000 “gesture” which didn’t come close to covering the cancellation fee I was unfairly charged. The customer service team was polite but ultimately hid behind policy rather than doing the right thing.
Second trip – dangerous driving
I decided to give them one more chance on a separate domestic leg. This time the driver showed up, but the experience was frightening. On the highway, the driver drove recklessly and we came dangerously close to a collision on two separate occasions. I genuinely feared for my safety and that of other passengers. I reported this to NearMe and to their credit they acknowledged it and promised to investigate — but the damage was done.
Overall
I had genuinely wanted to like this service. The concept is convenient and the pricing is reasonable on paper. But two consecutive bad experiences — one a no-show with an unfair cancellation fee, and one with a dangerous driver — makes it impossible to recommend. I’m walking away with a heavy heart but I cannot in good conscience suggest others use this service until they fix their driver quality control and their customer compensation policy.
