Great spa, not great food

点评：I’ve visited this spa several times over many years and always had a lovely time. Part of the attraction is how quiet it is compared to other spas. No queues of dressing gowned guests. This visit was similar. Lots of space by the pool, facilities clean and working, sunbeds put outside as it was the first really warm day. Massage and facial were lovely. V professional and enjoyable.
I have chosen 3 stars however because my two course lunch was poor. A Thai chicken curry with soggy onions, thin sauce. But the worst part was the dessert. A choice of lemon, raspberry or cinnamon swirl cheesecake. My raspberry one and my friend’s lemon one were immediately recognisable as straight off a Tesco shelf. I even looked up the cinnamon one finding the Cinnaswirl Cheesecake online. We got a quarter each, no added cream, sauce etc, just plonked on a plate. For a business marketing itself as a private members club and spa this falls well below what I would expect. It’s a shame because the rest of the day was great but the poor catering really lets it down.
