点评:While touring in the south of France, our hotel suggested that we spend the day at Les Baux de Provence. It sounded like a great idea so we drove over and, following the parking signs, parked along the hilltop road up into the city. We follow a set of stairs (and a small sign) and accidentally entered the city via La Porte d'Eyguieres!
It really was a wonderful moment. There was no one around and we had the ancient entrance all to ourselves. The climb up isn't terrible and once there, it was amazing to see how the entrance has looked for hundreds of years. The stone work was beautiful, the wooden door (while I'm sure new-er) gives a great feeling of antiquity and the steps/stairs constantly reminded you that you're on the top of the mountains.
We can't believe our luck in finding the entrance...from the back side! Definitely worth the effort to seek out and find!
