点评:Fascinating experience. I am really so pleased to have had the opportunity to visit. To classify this as a “military museum” seems a little inappropriate as it rather explores the human condition, both from an individual perspective, in terms of the lived experience of individual internees, and more broadly on a national scale as represented by the developing attitudes towards “enemy aliens” over WW1 and the various laws, policies and treaties which governed their treatment.
Alison and Rachel provided an incredibly interesting tour, based around the experience of one internee (on this occasion George Kenner, but I understand this will vary). The history is well documented and illustrated and the displays in the visitor centre are both informative and engaging.
I will definitely return to learn more.
Great also that the centre is genuinely dog friendly.
