Two days of outstanding customized tours with Ed

点评：While we were staying in Edinburgh, we engaged Ed for two separate days so we could visit parts of Scotland that are perhaps less visited by American tourists — and my wife and I couldn’t have been more pleased and satisfied.
First, weeks before we came to Scotland, Ed helped us plan each of the days. We had specific sites and scenes we wanted to see already, but Ed helped us with figuring out what was logistically possible and planning efficient routes, and also making good suggestions of places to stop that we hadn’t focused on (not to mention lunch suggestions!).
On one of the days Ed took us to the Melrose area, where we toured Walter Scott’s home, Abbotsford, and visited Dryburgh Abbey, Scott’s View, and Melrose Abbey (lunching in Melrose). Ed proved quite knowledgeable about all these places. The day went smoothly. Ed picks driving routes to maximize seeing interesting scenery.
On the other day Ed took us to Angus, where we visited the town of Arbroath, ate smokies at a harbor restaurant, saw Arbroath Abbey, visited St Vigean’s Church (where some of my ancestors were christened), visited the James M. Barrie birthplace/house in Kirriemuir, and toured Glamis Castle (where Macbeth murdered King Duncan). Ed helped us make this a great day.
Ed drives a large, comfortable Mercedes SUV, and he’s an excellent driver.
