点评：The Balvenie Distillery experience was very informative and provided information that was very educational and confirmed some notions that I had about some of their operations. Our host for my group was very experienced with distillation process as a long-time employee. Balvenie is one the few distilleries left that are still privately owned, grow their own barley and make their own barrels for their single malt whiskies. The Balvenie tour is one of the harder scotch events to attend since you need to book month(s) in advance depending on the time of year, but well worth the effort!
Best of all, their tasting room on the premises is a very nice backdrop to settle in and taste the quality (nose, palate and finish) of their American oak, various sherry, rum and port casks and double maturation sample selection of drams to be offered. Guided by your knowledgeable host, the nuances are explained between the selections as you discover how each dram compares and which best appeal to the senses from one the finest distilleries in the entire region of Speyside!
